Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: October 28,2026

We want you to know where you stand before you book. Because we sell travel provided by airlines and other Suppliers, most refund and change rules are set by them. This policy explains how that works with Flights Scanner Inc. (Travel-O-Tangy).

1. Flight tickets

  • Fare rules decide. Every airline fare comes with its own rules, and they are shown to you before you pay. Many discounted fares are non-refundable or only partially refundable, and some cannot be changed at all.
  • Refundable fares: If your ticket is refundable, we will submit your refund request to the airline or consolidator. We pay your refund once we receive it, less any airline penalties and our service fee.
  • Non-refundable fares: Non-refundable tickets generally have no cash refund. Some airlines may allow you to keep the unused value as a credit, minus change fees. Government taxes and airport fees may be refundable on an unused ticket even when the fare is not. We can check this for you.
  • Changes: Date, time or route changes are subject to airline change fees, fare differences and our service fee. Name changes are generally not permitted by airlines. Minor spelling corrections may be allowed, depending on the airline.
  • 24-hour rule: USD bookings are eligible for voiding or free cancellation within 24 hours of ticket issuance, while CAD bookings are eligible for a full refund if voided or cancelled on the same calendar day (EST) as ticket issuance. Both policies apply only when the departure date is at least 7 days after the booking date; otherwise, the applicable airline fare rules and penalties take effect immediately upon ticket issuance.
  • Unused tickets and no-shows: If you miss a flight without cancelling beforehand, the remaining ticket may lose all value.

2. Vacation packages

  • Cancellation charges depend on the Suppliers involved (airline, hotel, tour operator) and the date you cancel. The charges for your package will be provided in writing before you pay.
  • Deposits are generally non-refundable once Supplier penalties begin. Cancelling closer to departure generally means higher charges, and within the final days before departure the charge may be 100% of the package price.
  • Package changes are subject to Supplier approval, availability and fees.

3. Our service fees

Our service fees are non-refundable unless we made an error or we state otherwise in writing. If we cancel or change a booking because of our own mistake, we will not charge you a service fee for correcting it.

4. How to request a cancellation or refund

  1. Contact us as soon as possible by email at Contact@traveltangy.ca or by phone at (780) 999-1155. Please include your booking reference and the name of the lead traveller.
  2. We will confirm in writing what the Supplier’s rules allow, including any penalties and fees, before we take action.
  3. Once you approve, we submit the request to the Supplier. Cancellation requests are effective only when we confirm them in writing.

**Cancellation requests made by phone or email outside business hours are treated as received on the next business day. Airline rules, however, may apply from the time of your request, so please contact us promptly**

5. Refund timing and method

  • Refunds are issued to your original form of payment.
  • Airlines and consolidators can take 1-2 billing cycles and sometimes longer, to process refunds. Once we receive funds from the Supplier, we aim to pass them on to you within 7 business days.
  • Refund amounts can be affected by exchange rates, credit card processing fees charged to us and Supplier penalties.

6. Airline-initiated changes and cancellations

If an airline cancels your flight or makes a significant schedule change, you may be entitled to a rebooking or a refund under the airline’s policy and applicable regulations. Contact us and we will help you request the option that suits you. Where a refund is approved by the airline, we will pass it on in full, and we will not charge a service fee for helping with an airline-initiated cancellation

7. Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank. We would like to resolve it quickly, and we can provide documentation for your bank where needed. Any unjustified, fraudulent, or unauthorized chargeback will be treated as a serious violation of our booking terms and may result in strict action. Such action may include immediate ticket cancellation or suspension of any pending travel arrangements, recovery of outstanding amounts, and pursuit of applicable legal remedies and financial penalties. The customer may also be held responsible for any additional costs, losses, or administrative expenses incurred as a result of the chargeback, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

8. Force majeure

For events outside anyone’s control (such as natural disasters, pandemics, border closures or strikes), the Supplier’s policy applies. We will help you pursue available credits or refunds but cannot guarantee them.
